Universal Studios Planning To Reopen

Universal Studios Planning To Reopen
  • Post Category:Blogs

Universal Studios has been pushing to reopen its theme park alongside Disney and SeaWorld. The push comes amid the summer seasons when families are on vacation and travel increases.

Unfortunately, the park has been closed for a few months due to COVID-19. While many would like to refrain from opening massive, large-scale populated areas, others argue to open up their cities economy.

Universal Studios, Disney World, and SeaWorld are the three largest attractions to Orlando. Each theme park brings in hundreds of thousands to millions of people per year.

The park has requested reopening their sites alongside both Disney and SeaWorld.

Universal Studios Requirements For Opening

Upon opening, the park must adhere to strict guidelines. While these precautions must be adhered to, there is no guarantee that the spread of COVID-19 will be halted. With largely populated areas, the threat of spreading the virus grows exponentially.

All park goers will have their temperature checked regularly. Guests with 100.4 degrees or higher will not be permitted. Masks will be required for park entry as well as to get on all rides. All rides that utilize water, the requirement for a mask is waived for children under 2-years old.

Capacity at the park will also be limited. This will go against the stark contrast of regularly seeing packed spaces. Designated waiting zones for park goers to get on or off rides will be spaces 6-feet apart. They will also be given hand sanitizer for when they get on and off the rides.

The park has also put forth extensive cleaning procedures. From the most highly touched surfaces to the extensive cleaning of both public eating spaces and rides, the pro-active measure taken by the park have been enough to warrant a vote as to whether they can reopen to the public.

The vote goes in on June 11th alongside Disney and Sea World.
