Peppa Pig Theme Park is going to open as a certified autism center. The leaders of the center did announce it on Tuesday. This occurred at the IAAPA Expo the local county convention center in a Southern state and city.
Peppa Pig Theme Park – Kid-Friendly Accessibility
Partnering with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) is what the theme park is doing. Moreover, it would be to earn the special accreditation. In fact, officials said several of the attractions inside the park have been developing with kid-friendly accessibility in mind.
The all-new Peppa Pig’s Balloon ride is one of those attractions.

“Also, the guests can enjoy the ride from whimsical baskets, they are crafted to look like a hot air balloon. In fact, they are specially designing to allow children who use wheelchairs to roll onto the ‘balloon basket.’ This is without needing to transfer from their wheelchairs,” leaders said in a news release. “Merlin Entertainments’ creative and project delivery team, Merlin Magic Making, along with the ride manufacturers at Technical Park they worked very closely together to develop this adaptation to a fan-favorite ride. It was to make sure more children could, in fact, experience it safely along with a grownup, or adult companion.”
There are other attractions in the park that are developing for those in wheelchairs. They include the Muddy Puddles Splash Pad and the sensory-enhanced trail of Peppa’s Pedal Bike Tour.
Peppa Pig Theme Park: Autism Sensitivity and Awareness Training
In fact, officials are saying staff-wide autism sensitivity and also awareness training. Both are underway thus ahead of the park’s February 24th grand opening celebration.
In-Depth Review of the Park
Also, there is in addition to staff training, IBCCES is, in fact, conducting an in-depth review of the new park. This would be to develop a detailed sensory guide,” leaders described. “Moreover, this guide does feature a review of every attraction. It would provide insight on how a child with sensory processing issues may be affecting by each of the five senses. Also, it would create an all-compassing planning tool providing the information that is needing to make it easier for parents and families to plan activities. Those which would satisfy their child’s specific needs and accommodations.”
