Orlando, FL – Dom Dwyer – OCSC lead striker is out for the remainder of the tournament. The forward is a staple in the offensive line for the soccer team.
Dwyer experienced severe tightening in his left leg during the match against New York City FC. The first match of the tournament saw the team lead by 3-1 victory. During the match, Dwyer put a solid header against NYCFC which doubled their lead against the team.
For the match against Montreal, Dwyer was out but the team still secured a 1-0 victory over the Canadian team.
Orlando City SC is looking to make a huge impact on the American soccer scene. With a new rival in the Florida area, the team looks to stand out among the rest.
Last year, Florida made a push for another soccer team. Owner (and one of the greatest soccer stars of all time) David Beckham chose the state to lead their new team and bring Miami back into the limelight.
This meant that Orlando had to step up their game – and boy, have they. As of right now the team is out of the group stages and is looking to start the tournament against another major challenge – LAFC. Both of these teams have amazing results. Unfortunately for Orlando, without Dwyer, they might have more to fight for.
Without Dom Dwyer – Orlando Has To Come Up
Right now, Orlando is looking to be on top. They currently lead the tournament over the next best – including LAFC. Without Dwyer at the front, it looks like it could be tricky.
Overall, the team is in great shape for the tournament. Despite not having one of their lead strikers, they still have a solid chance to advance. If they can out-perform the heavy offense of LAFC, they might just see the finals!
